Development of flax/basalt/PA11 bio-composites: optimal formulation and modelling of the quasi-static behaviour

Environmental impact is becoming increasingly important in the automotive industry, with car manufacturers looking to reduce CO 2 emissions through cleaner engines and structural weight reduction. The main objective this study investigate potential a new unique hybrid bio-composite material combining flax basalt fibers PA11 polymer. This design studied idea reducing moisture sensitivity, variabilities, uncertainties vegetal by presence fibers. first step consists developing composite studying its quasi-static mechanical behaviour when subjected different humidity levels. Then, multi-scale non-linear homogenization approach proposed support interpretation characterization test results. experimental results show benefits hybridization. In fact, 20% stiffer than flax/PA11 composite, 8% lighter basalt/PA11 has reduced dispersion properties, 52% lower flax/ composite. Considering promising properties we have investigated possibility front hood sports using material. highlight mass gain 18% at iso-performance original hood. following steps will be devoted numerical validation.
